Back to Paris

It’s official: I have quit my job in New York City, bought a one way ticket to Paris, researched over 30 properties, and transferred my savings in to a French bank account. As I write this I am sitting at JFK airport waiting for my 10:05 flight to CDG. Tomorrow, 4 October 2017 will be the start of my new adventure, I am going to be travelling around France looking for a property to run as a Bed & Breakfast.

Although I am sad to be stepping outside of my public health career, I feel this will be the right choice for me. I have worked hard at every job I have ever had since I was 10 years old. I have poured my passion, my creativity and my determination into my work, and I have enjoyed it. However, I am at an age where I would like to see more reward for what I bring to the table. I am not one of those employees who just does enough not to get fired, and I have worked with a lot of those types of people. I’ve known for a while that if I really want to see the reward for my work, I’ll have to start my own business. So this has been part of the driving force behind this decision to start a Bed & Breakfast.

For the entire month of October, I will be travelling via Planes, Trains and Automobiles to look at properties all over the French countryside. I will blog daily about the property(ies) I view, and I hope to have found one, and make a successful offer on one by November.

Thank you to all of my fabulous, amazing, special and incredible friends in New York City for all of their support and encouragement. Once a suitable property has been found, you will always have a place to stay when visiting France. Au revoir mes amis!

Fingers crossed!

We can’t wait to visit, and bring the whole gang you met at dinner.
