Vegas, again

Las Vegas, another journey during this covid hell of 2020. This is my 6th or 7th time in Vegas over the last 6 months. Daniel, my dearest friend, has planned out another over the top, extraordinary Malibu private yacht trip and fabulous time in Vegas. Of course, 2020 being what it is threw a wrench in the entire set of plans for the extended weekend. The weather, wind and rain made the yacht trip impossible because of record breaking waves, and you know a boat of 12 gay boys would end with at least 6 overboard, 4 of which would not be brought back. So due to weather the fabulous weekend would be contained to Vegas.

Not a problem for us, as Danny never disappoints, and trust, he never did. We started each morning at the delicious Sugarcane Raw Bar & Grill, where we are VIP and treated with open arms, and the amazing staff make the entire meal the best. The first day we stayed for 6 hours, the second day we went back a total of three times, the third and fourth days we stayed 4 hours.

If you are ever in Las Vegas, do yourself a favor at head over the the Venetian and treat yourself to SugarCanes. The bottomless mimosas, beef empanadas, and spicy tuna crispy rice will leave you wanting to move in there. The staff is amazing, Raquel treated us so well, as did the entire staff of Food Runners, Managers and the adorable host. We celebrated Jake and Michael’s birthday on Sunday evening at YardBird, also delicious.

On Monday evening we went to MOTT32….the meal was delicious. We has the pork, and the sea bass, the steak and crab rice…Daniel ranked this restaurant on par with Hell’s Kitchen and I couldn’t agree more.

Tuesday morning we got up and headed down to Sugarcane for one last goodbye. I seriously cannot rave enough with what an incredible staff they have! Saying goodbye is never easy, of course Daniel reminded me that Drag Brunch will begin December 4th and that he already has tickets for two shows that weekend. So it seems my last vegas trip of the year will be in December. Until then.
