My Father, the Greatest!

My dad has always been an incredible person. Over the years I have learned more and more how truly lucky and blessed I am to have such an amazing human being as my dad.

Growing up, we did not have much money, and my dad worked very hard to support my mother, my siblings and myself. Even when he was working incredibly hard, he always made me and my siblings feel special and loved. When I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, he was there to reassure me that everything would be ok. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer he kept us all in good spirits and made a very difficult life situation much easier for us.

A pillar of strength

When my mother passed away, my father went back to college to get his degree to become a teacher. He worked multiple jobs from managing a pizza restaurant to delivering newspapers while attending school…I really have no idea how/if he ever slept during those years. With 2 daughters in high school and 2 sons in elementary school…he was incredible.

Years later when I came out of the closet to him, he was open, accepting and loving. I was so nervous and terrified at the time, I didn’t know what to think. I was worried that he would no longer love me. I was so excited and relieved to know how open minded my dad is and that he would always love me

My dad has an amazing attitude, always singing random songs, happy to help out friends, and family members anytime they are in need. He has always inspired me to help others, and I have always admired his incredible spirit.

My dad is my hero, and I am very lucky to be his son.
