Saturday December 21st, 2019 is the Winter Solstice. It is the longest night of the year, also known as Midwinter. As someone who prefers the darkness, it is one of my most favorite days of the year. Winter Solstice has meant a lot to many different cultures around the globe, but now in these “modern” times it doesn’t seem to hold the weight of importance it once had. So I would like to encourage everyone to take the time to step outside, disconnect from your devices, take a deep breath of the night air and reconnect with nature, if just for a moment.
